In Bloom | Outfit Post | Featuring Pink Blush Maternity

Fashion and Travel Blogger Amy West features this Floral Maternity Maxi from Pink Blush Maternity on her latest outfit post. Shopping for maternity clothes in this day in age is a world away from 30 years ago. We are so lucky to have a variety of great maternity boutiques to choose from. Finding the right style for your body and personality can be tricky. However, with a little bit of luck you'll stumble upon the perfect shop for you. During this pregnancy, I've enjoyed discovering some of the trendiest Mom-to-Be ensembles out there and sharing a piece of my style with you. When I stumbled upon Pink Blush Maternity, I couldn't wait to showcase a few of their looks right here on the blog. Especially this little floral number.

Timeless Elegance

When I discovered this floral maternity maxi I was drawn to it's timeless elegance. However, as you might suspect, purchasing floral patterns can be tricky. If not fitted right or designed well they can resemble upholstery more than a classically designed dress. I was pleased when I received this maternity maxi to find that it fit like a dream and the faux wrap design was very flattering. I think the secret is really making sure it's the right size. I usually wear a size 4/6 when not pregnant. For this design I ordered a small maternity size and it was perfect. If you order too big, it won't hug those blossoming curves as well and may tow the line. Not pregnant? No problem. Pink Blush's women's line also offers this floral maxi in traditional women's sizes.

I've had more compliments on this look than pretty much any maternity out fit I've showcased so far. It's a show stopper

Delicate Details

This design brought to mind Victorian elegance which lead me to style it with delicate details. The beautiful colors in multiple shades and depths gave a lot of freedom to choose accent colors to compliment the entire look. In this case I chose both a fuchsia polish and a deep burgundy clutch, along with dusty blue earrings. Classic pearls and this delicate lace headband made for the perfect final touches.

Easy Sophistication

This far along in my pregnancy I'm not really into spending long periods of time taming my long mane. Top that off with soaring summer temps and that leaves me with limited options for quick hair looks. I chose this headband because I knew I could do this quick tuck in up do. Simply part your hair in the middle, lay on the headband (on top of your hair) then tuck the hair that hangs down up and into the headband. Fasten with a few pins as needed and you are done. Literally 5 minutes or less.

Amy West shows off this quick elegant up do using head band.

Celebrate timeless elegance and femininity with this gorgeous floral maxi from Pink Blush. It's a must have!

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

Just Incase for Your Next Trip | Product Review

As a professional traveler, having the right bag falls under "must have" tools of the trade. Finding the perfect bag can be like finding the perfect shoe. You may try on a lot of duds before you discover the one that fits like a glove. That's why when I found Incase's EO Roller travel bag, I knew I might have just found my luggage soul mate...

EO Roller - Sized Just Right

When browsing the Incase product line I chose the EO Roller for it's carry on friendly size. Technically it's designed to fit 3 days worth of clothes, but a savvy packer could easily fit more using some clever travel hacks. I prefer the carry on size for smoother transitions when traveling. I hate hold ups waiting for luggage after the flight, and need easy access to what I've brought, especially if there are any flight delays or changes.

The Poly Cotton front panel is weather resistant to keep your valuables safer.

Incase's mission has always gone hand in hand with serving to protect it's users technology. In addition to the padded pocket serving just this purpose, I also really appreciated the poly cotton/ weather resistant front panel.

The rubberized handle extends with the push of a button and folds down quickly, and the smooth rollers are ideal for quickly maneuvering through airport gates or dashing through the terminal.

Cozy Fit

The perfect protection for all your devices, Incase not only made room, they made your devices the star. This special padded front opening has room for a 17" laptop, as well as space for cables, other electronics, and any other business supplies you can think of ( I hear a collective squeal from all you type A organizers). As you can see form the image, I still had room for my fluffy travel pillow. It's a very spacious pocket.

The pocket designed for your electronics and gadgets has plenty of room, and provides ample pockets for organization.

Room to Grow

Inside the main compartment you'll find a small mesh pocket and a large space for the bulk of your clothes etc. Each zips up nicely for tidy storage. Like I said, you are good for 3 days or more of supplies, and that is aided by the expanding main compartment which gives you 35% more room.

Store around 3 days worth of clothes in the main compartment.

For heavier loads upon return, take advantage of the expandable zipper which gives you 35% more space.

I'm so happy I found my perfect fit. Seriously what's not to love?

For the perfect fit for your next trip, look to Incase to meet your needs. Not only do they carry a host of great luggage, you'll also find backpacks, messenger bags, duffle bags, and protection for all your devices.
Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

The perfect carry on. Hands Down

Summer Skincare Selections | Featuring Image Skincare

Amy West's Summer Skincare Selections featuring Image SkincareWhen I think of summer skin I think of that bronzy glow we all crave. That fresh from some adventure rosiness glistening against the blue summer sky while the sea breeze ruffles delightfully tussled hair. While these images are certainly picturesque and admittedly fantastical, that doesn't mean healthy, glowing skin can't be a reality. For over six years now I've been a huge fan of Image Skincare products, and while I appreciate the compliments on my recent maternal glow, I have to give credit where credit is due. Great skincare starts with a solid foundation. Not sure where to begin? Here are my Summer Skincare Selections.

Amy West's Summer Skincare Selections featuring Image Skincare
Try the Ormedic Line for Organic Ingredients full of Botanicals and Antioxidants

Hydration Nation

Safe enough to use on an infant, the Ormedic line is made from the purest organic ingredients. Like all Image Skincare products it's free of harsh chemicals and preservatives. I love that the Ormedic line harnesses the best botanicals and enriches your body's largest organ with antioxidants creating healthy balanced skin. For mamas to be like myself, the Ormedic line is an easy choice as you don't have to question any of the ingredients that baby might be exposed to.

The Max utilizes Stem Cells for superior Anti-Aging

The Max line is by far my favorite of Image Skincare's long list of popular offerings. Since I'm frequently making on air appearances I spend time weekly adding more makeup to my face than typical. The Max cleanser makes my skin feel renewed after a day of full makeup. If you pay attention to new advances in skincare you might have heard the term stem cells. Using the stem cells from fruit like apples, Image has tapped into a whole new world of anti aging, and The Max line is chock full of those revitalizing stem cells. The ingredients in The Max line not only repair damage, but protect against future damage nurturing your skin on a cellular level. I could pretty much swim in a vat of the stem cell creme. It's just that amazing.

Protection from the Sun that is Long Lasting and feels great to the touch

Sun Salutation

I don't know about you but I really hate greasy sunscreens. Living in Florida, we go through barrels of sunscreen on a yearly basis and I have become extremely picky. The only summers I've managed to go completely sunburn free have been the ones I've dedicated myself to only using Image's Prevention + line. The lotions are extremely sheer and feel great to the touch, not greasy or chalky. There are no weird smells, and they last a long time. I love the spray for easy application, and the tinted moisturizer is the perfect base for a light makeup look, or a "makeup free" day.

Schedule an O2 Lift Facial for the ultimate nourishment for your skin

My ultimate not so secret weapon is the O2 lift facial (or Oxygen facial). Not something you can get at home, you'll need to find a spa near you who offers the Image products and features the Oxygen facial. Imagine your skin completely reenergized and nourished with cell rebuilding oxygen. First comes the gel to milk cleanser, then the enzymatic facial peel, followed by the oxygen mask, and finally the hydrating serum. The service is complete with a protective layer of tinted moisturizer that also carries an spf to protect your fresh skin from dangerous UV rays. I love how gentle this facial is. Completely pampering, and free of any kind of skin trauma. Nourish, pamper, and protect the skin you're in. You will feel brand new after this treatment. Definitely a summer must have.

Beauty Basics

Amy West's Summer Skincare Selections featuring Image Skincare
Protect and conceal with beauty products from Image Skincare

Once your foundation is solid, top it off with some of my favorite Image beauty selections. I'm absolutely married to my I Conceal foundation which has the ideal coverage and is perfect for every day and on air appearances. Featuring an SPF 30, you can feel safe knowing your skin is protected, nourished by botanical and oxygen rich ingredients, and flawless. On lighter coverage days I opt for the tinted moisturizer. For fuller, longer, and healthier lashes I love Ageless Lashes which promotes follicle growth. Finally, if you are wanting softer, smoother skin, collect the Body Spa line which includes a firming, bronzing, and rejuvenating body lotions.

So get your glow on this summer and stay hydrated, refreshed, and protected from the sun.

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

Keep it Casual | Outfit Post | Featuring Anthropologie

Keep it Casual Outfit Post with Amy West

Fashion doesn't have to be complicated, and let's face it. Some days are just t-shirt days. Personally, I love comfort driven looks (especially for travel). That doesn't mean they have to look sloppy though. With a few little touches it's easy to take a comfy outfit and give it an elevated style (again, especially handy for travel). Feel more put together without looking over dressed or having to try too hard.  Here's what I do...

Keep it Casual Outfit Post with Amy West
The ultimate comfy Swing Tank from Anthropologie
Top to the Morning to Ya!

Left of Center Shibori Swing Tank • Anthropologie • $58

I love this comfy tank from Anthropologie. Literally the kind of airy top you could wear all day, then fall asleep in. Perfect for summer, and not a maternity top but certainly plenty of room to grow.

These sunglasses go with everything!

Front and Center

A great statement necklace can take a casual look and step it up. I love the splash of color this braided  yellow necklace from Target brought to my ensemble. Some classy shades (also from Target) and a pink lip added just the right touch for a walk in Memorial Park in Jacksonville's charming Riverside neighborhood. A side swept pony and stud earrings keep the look undone and effortless.

Absolutely obsessed with this necklace. It goes with more than I ever imagined.

5 One Tank Trips for North Floridians

5 One Tank Trips for North FloridiansReady to get away this summer and explore some new territory? Want to take the kids for a trip but not quite up for cross country? Visiting Florida is about more than great beaches. It's chock full of treasures from natural wonders, to great shopping. If you are looking for a little inspiration on where to go and how to save, I've got some "One Tank Trips" lined up for you that will have you thinking there is still some adventure left for the taking this summer. Want to go by the numbers? Try this helpful website to get your Travel Math spot on.

1. Daytona: 1.5 hours away

A view from the top down at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

I recently traveled to Daytona with my family for a quick mini Babymoon. Before this trip I had regarded Daytona and it's beaches as more of a spring break destination reserved for NASCAR and Bike Week fans. I was surprised at the well preserved history and culture I discovered in the region. The highlight for my family was the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and neighboring Marine Science Center. The Lighthouse which you can still climb today is the second largest in the nation and is designated a National Historic Landmark. You'll enjoy chatting up the Lighthouse Keeper (historical reenactment)  and touring the three historic homes previously inhabited by the families of the official keepers. A stone's throw away you'll discover the Marine Science Center, an educational outlet for the  entire family and a working hospital for sea turtles. It's all about hands on at this destination where the entire family is welcome to pet stingrays and sharks in the touch tanks along with sea urchins, and sea slugs.

Father and daughter enjoy the touch tanks at the Marine Science Center in Daytona

2. Clearwater/ St. Petersburg: 4 hrs

The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club

Winter the dolphin at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Clearwater and St. Petersburg welcome families big and small to enjoy the historic and marine treasures that await. Stay at The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club where their "Navigators" will pack you a lunch and set the details in motion for an active day in St. Pete at the Great Explorations Children's Museum or the 100 year old Sunken Gardens.

Ever seen the movie Dolphin Tale? Meet Winter, the famous star of the first and second movies, who resides at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. You'll also discover other marine life such as turtles, otters, and stingrays.

If you are looking for a place to stay beachside, head to TradeWinds Island Grand Resort for family fun in the sun. Enjoy the Pirate Show, floating water park, giant inflated slide on the beach, bungee trampoline, and jetpacks on the water! Still not sure what to do? I love this list of 201 Things to do on your Fl Vacation.
TradeWinds Island Grand Resort

3. Naples: 5.5 hours

The Inn on Fifth in Naples, FL

For the ultimate sophisticated girls getaway escape to Naples, FL and the luxurious boutique hotel The Inn on FifthThough it might be a bit more than one tank for my hefty 4Runner, if you are rocking the Prius, it's still in your ballpark for One Tank. The Inn on Fifth's "Beauty and the Beach" package includes a day of pampering for you and your girls including mani/pedi and blow out and a one hour spa service. You'll also enjoy dinner at Avenue 5 restaurant, and snacks and treats ready for the beach! The Inn on Fifth is a AAA Four Diamond Rated hotel as well as Forbes Four Star Rated. Guests will also enjoy the intimate setting, plush amenities, and refreshing rooftop pool.

The rooftop pool at The Inn on Fifth in Naples

4. Crystal River: 2.5 hours

Swimming with the Manatees in Crystal River

Plantation on Crystal River is located in the only county where you can swim and interact with manatees in the wild. Sitting on 232 acres of lush preserve, the Plantation is surrounded by the natural springs of Kings Bay in Crystal River. Over 400 West Indian Manatees migrate to the warm waters of Crystal River each year. Aside from getting up close and personal with these gentle giants guests can also enjoy scalloping, Champion Course Golf, and top notch fishing.

Eat fresh scallops at the Plantation on Crystal River
Enjoy Scalloping then head to West 82ยบ Grill  where they will cook them for you!

5. Tallahassee: 3 Hours

Tallahassee, FL

Celebrate the "Great Southern Summer" in Tallahassee. I recently returned from a short visit to Tallahassee and fell in love with it's charm and natural beauty. If you haven't gotten to know Florida's Capital City, this is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted. Featuring more than 600 miles of trails, Tallahassee has some of the best biking, hiking, running, paddling, and equestrian paths in the Southeast. Other outdoor adventures include Tallahassee Museum's Tree to Tree Adventures zip line and obstacle course (including a course just for children), over 60 award winning parks, and a jungle cruise boat tour down Wakulla Springs. If that's not enough inspiration, check out these 31 attractions under $10
