The Ultimate T-Shirt Dress

The Ultimate T-Shirt Dress

Always searching for the most effortless fashion, I recently discovered this comfy look at Anthropologie. The T-shirt dress has been more popular this year than ever before as loungewear, and activewear continue to surge at the register.

If you follow me on snapchat (under AmyWestTravel) you might remember this look from a recent day trip I took to Fernandina. Perfect for a day on the water, this outfit is easy breezy.

Amy West shows how to turn lounge wear into a sophisticated look
I've been wearing these Mia Gladiators all summer. They needed a little bit of breaking in because the elastic straps were a little tight, but now they are like second skin. There isn't a lot of tread on them though, so be careful not to slip.
Stunning neutrals are a great investment for any wardrobe

I love this necklace I also found at Anthropologie. I've been surprised to find it goes with almost anything, a perfect neutral piece that can really change up an outfit and make it pop.

Amy West relaxes in this coastal chic look
As for sizing on this Threads striped T-shirt dress, I went for the Small. Sometimes I wear a medium, but this had plenty of room in a Small. I love the classic stripes since they will never go out of style. Bonus! This dress has pockets!
Turquoise is on trend

Dress - Hat - Ring - Bracelet (old but here is one similar) - Shoes - Necklace- Sunglasses

With fall right around the corner, I look forward to getting creative and seeing what I can do with layers to create more of a transitional look.

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

Fruitful Fashion on Trend | What I'm Wearing

Summer Fruit Outfit Post
It all started with this lemon dress I found at a local boutique. Right away I was smitten. Yellow always makes me happy and the fact that this ladylike silhouette was covered in a retro lemon print made me grin from ear to ear. As a travel and lifestyle blogger I believe fashion should be as much about the way you feel as it is about style. For that reason I'm so incredibly happy that fruit is trending this summer season.

It's time for summer picnics and days at the beach. What better way to show your summer spirt than in a brightly colored playful number like these?

Little girl in dress with fruit

My girls like to get in on the outfit post action. When I spotted this watermelon swim suit for baby London at Target I knew we had an ensemble. A quick peek in Sienna's closet reminded me of this little kiwi dress from last year's Target line. Though it's not available now, I found an adorable replacement covered in strawberries that is just as sweet (listed below)!

What are your favorite summer fashion trends? I love hearing from you in the comments below.

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

Summer Skincare Selections | Featuring Image Skincare

Amy West's Summer Skincare Selections featuring Image SkincareWhen I think of summer skin I think of that bronzy glow we all crave. That fresh from some adventure rosiness glistening against the blue summer sky while the sea breeze ruffles delightfully tussled hair. While these images are certainly picturesque and admittedly fantastical, that doesn't mean healthy, glowing skin can't be a reality. For over six years now I've been a huge fan of Image Skincare products, and while I appreciate the compliments on my recent maternal glow, I have to give credit where credit is due. Great skincare starts with a solid foundation. Not sure where to begin? Here are my Summer Skincare Selections.

Try the Ormedic Line for Organic Ingredients full of Botanicals and Antioxidants

Hydration Nation

Safe enough to use on an infant, the Ormedic line is made from the purest organic ingredients. Like all Image Skincare products it's free of harsh chemicals and preservatives. I love that the Ormedic line harnesses the best botanicals and enriches your body's largest organ with antioxidants creating healthy balanced skin. For mamas to be like myself, the Ormedic line is an easy choice as you don't have to question any of the ingredients that baby might be exposed to.

The Max utilizes Stem Cells for superior Anti-Aging

The Max line is by far my favorite of Image Skincare's long list of popular offerings. Since I'm frequently making on air appearances I spend time weekly adding more makeup to my face than typical. The Max cleanser makes my skin feel renewed after a day of full makeup. If you pay attention to new advances in skincare you might have heard the term stem cells. Using the stem cells from fruit like apples, Image has tapped into a whole new world of anti aging, and The Max line is chock full of those revitalizing stem cells. The ingredients in The Max line not only repair damage, but protect against future damage nurturing your skin on a cellular level. I could pretty much swim in a vat of the stem cell creme. It's just that amazing.

Protection from the Sun that is Long Lasting and feels great to the touch

Sun Salutation

I don't know about you but I really hate greasy sunscreens. Living in Florida, we go through barrels of sunscreen on a yearly basis and I have become extremely picky. The only summers I've managed to go completely sunburn free have been the ones I've dedicated myself to only using Image's Prevention + line. The lotions are extremely sheer and feel great to the touch, not greasy or chalky. There are no weird smells, and they last a long time. I love the spray for easy application, and the tinted moisturizer is the perfect base for a light makeup look, or a "makeup free" day.

Schedule an O2 Lift Facial for the ultimate nourishment for your skin

My ultimate not so secret weapon is the O2 lift facial (or Oxygen facial). Not something you can get at home, you'll need to find a spa near you who offers the Image products and features the Oxygen facial. Imagine your skin completely reenergized and nourished with cell rebuilding oxygen. First comes the gel to milk cleanser, then the enzymatic facial peel, followed by the oxygen mask, and finally the hydrating serum. The service is complete with a protective layer of tinted moisturizer that also carries an spf to protect your fresh skin from dangerous UV rays. I love how gentle this facial is. Completely pampering, and free of any kind of skin trauma. Nourish, pamper, and protect the skin you're in. You will feel brand new after this treatment. Definitely a summer must have.

Beauty Basics

Protect and conceal with beauty products from Image Skincare

Once your foundation is solid, top it off with some of my favorite Image beauty selections. I'm absolutely married to my I Conceal foundation which has the ideal coverage and is perfect for every day and on air appearances. Featuring an SPF 30, you can feel safe knowing your skin is protected, nourished by botanical and oxygen rich ingredients, and flawless. On lighter coverage days I opt for the tinted moisturizer. For fuller, longer, and healthier lashes I love Ageless Lashes which promotes follicle growth. Finally, if you are wanting softer, smoother skin, collect the Body Spa line which includes a firming, bronzing, and rejuvenating body lotions.

So get your glow on this summer and stay hydrated, refreshed, and protected from the sun.

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

5 One Tank Trips for North Floridians

5 One Tank Trips for North FloridiansReady to get away this summer and explore some new territory? Want to take the kids for a trip but not quite up for cross country? Visiting Florida is about more than great beaches. It's chock full of treasures from natural wonders, to great shopping. If you are looking for a little inspiration on where to go and how to save, I've got some "One Tank Trips" lined up for you that will have you thinking there is still some adventure left for the taking this summer. Want to go by the numbers? Try this helpful website to get your Travel Math spot on.

1. Daytona: 1.5 hours away

A view from the top down at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

I recently traveled to Daytona with my family for a quick mini Babymoon. Before this trip I had regarded Daytona and it's beaches as more of a spring break destination reserved for NASCAR and Bike Week fans. I was surprised at the well preserved history and culture I discovered in the region. The highlight for my family was the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and neighboring Marine Science Center. The Lighthouse which you can still climb today is the second largest in the nation and is designated a National Historic Landmark. You'll enjoy chatting up the Lighthouse Keeper (historical reenactment)  and touring the three historic homes previously inhabited by the families of the official keepers. A stone's throw away you'll discover the Marine Science Center, an educational outlet for the  entire family and a working hospital for sea turtles. It's all about hands on at this destination where the entire family is welcome to pet stingrays and sharks in the touch tanks along with sea urchins, and sea slugs.

2. Clearwater/ St. Petersburg: 4 hrs

The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club

Winter the dolphin at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Clearwater and St. Petersburg welcome families big and small to enjoy the historic and marine treasures that await. Stay at The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club where their "Navigators" will pack you a lunch and set the details in motion for an active day in St. Pete at the Great Explorations Children's Museum or the 100 year old Sunken Gardens.

Ever seen the movie Dolphin Tale? Meet Winter, the famous star of the first and second movies, who resides at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. You'll also discover other marine life such as turtles, otters, and stingrays.

If you are looking for a place to stay beachside, head to TradeWinds Island Grand Resort for family fun in the sun. Enjoy the Pirate Show, floating water park, giant inflated slide on the beach, bungee trampoline, and jetpacks on the water! Still not sure what to do? I love this list of 201 Things to do on your Fl Vacation.

3. Naples: 5.5 hours

The Inn on Fifth in Naples, FL

For the ultimate sophisticated girls getaway escape to Naples, FL and the luxurious boutique hotel The Inn on FifthThough it might be a bit more than one tank for my hefty 4Runner, if you are rocking the Prius, it's still in your ballpark for One Tank. The Inn on Fifth's "Beauty and the Beach" package includes a day of pampering for you and your girls including mani/pedi and blow out and a one hour spa service. You'll also enjoy dinner at Avenue 5 restaurant, and snacks and treats ready for the beach! The Inn on Fifth is a AAA Four Diamond Rated hotel as well as Forbes Four Star Rated. Guests will also enjoy the intimate setting, plush amenities, and refreshing rooftop pool.

4. Crystal River: 2.5 hours

Swimming with the Manatees in Crystal River

Plantation on Crystal River is located in the only county where you can swim and interact with manatees in the wild. Sitting on 232 acres of lush preserve, the Plantation is surrounded by the natural springs of Kings Bay in Crystal River. Over 400 West Indian Manatees migrate to the warm waters of Crystal River each year. Aside from getting up close and personal with these gentle giants guests can also enjoy scalloping, Champion Course Golf, and top notch fishing.

Eat fresh scallops at the Plantation on Crystal River
Enjoy Scalloping then head to West 82ยบ Grill  where they will cook them for you!

5. Tallahassee: 3 Hours

Tallahassee, FL

Celebrate the "Great Southern Summer" in Tallahassee. I recently returned from a short visit to Tallahassee and fell in love with it's charm and natural beauty. If you haven't gotten to know Florida's Capital City, this is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted. Featuring more than 600 miles of trails, Tallahassee has some of the best biking, hiking, running, paddling, and equestrian paths in the Southeast. Other outdoor adventures include Tallahassee Museum's Tree to Tree Adventures zip line and obstacle course (including a course just for children), over 60 award winning parks, and a jungle cruise boat tour down Wakulla Springs. If that's not enough inspiration, check out these 31 attractions under $10
