Walking through Savannah in An Unlikely Pear

Before we headed off to Savannah I discovered a trendy online shoe boutique called An Unlikely Pear that I absolutely fell in love with. In desperate need of some new shoes, I was thrilled to add two new pair to my wardrobe. Savannah was an ideal location to break them in, with plenty of charming sidewalk to explore.

Kariba Cage Sandal by Jessica Simpson from An Unlikely Pear
I chose a neutral, strappy, block heeled sandal, and a boho boot to add to my collection. London was smitten with this Jessica Simpson Kariba Cage Sandal. She followed me everywhere saying "Shewwwww", and as soon as I took them off she was walking around in them as best she could. Lacing is so on trend right now and the suede texture and tassel detail made the perfect finishing touches.

I love the style of these sandals so much. I'm just as comfortable with them in a maxi dress as I am in cropped boyfriend jeans. They can be dressed up, or add the perfect funky touch to a casual look.

When I received these Not Rated Sansa boots I fully expected to have to break them in a little. I was pleasantly surprised that they were already good to go. The streets of Savannah were no match for my walking boots. We traversed cobble stones, bricks, stairs, and parks on our trip. These boots were just as comfy at the end of the day as when I slipped them on at the start of the day. Also, I originally thought they were so boho I might be limited on what to where them with, but they are surprisingly versatile.

The Western flare these boots have is one of fashion's most sought after details right now. Exposed threading, and laser cut edging make them stand out, while the neutral shade blends with a large color spectrum. These are a great investment for fall and winter, and will transition straight into festival season. As comfy as they are, they are sure to stick around your closet for seasons to come.

Puppies in Paradise | Featuring Anthropologie

This summer I proved you can go home again. The girls and I flew up to my family home in Kentucky where my dad is a cattle farmer. Clean fresh air, space to run around, and plenty of time in the pool was mom's prescription for summer time boredom. Add a litter of puppies to the mix and it was pretty much the perfect recipe for timeless summer memories.

HD in Paris Ardmore Dress from Anthropologie

I grabbed this little number on sale at Anthropologie a few weeks back. Great news, it's still on sale! Catch this great deal in three different colors/prints while supplies last. I was surprised how sexy and flirty it turned out to be. The pictures I had seen online were sweet and feminine, but off the hanger the fabric hugged my curves in all the right ways. Casual enough to dress down and simple enough to style up, I loved the bright color for summer. I suggest ordering a size down.

I grabbed this t-shirt dress for Sienna at a local boutique recently and she adores it. It's super comfy and durable enough for play time. Wear it as a bathing suit cover up or a tunic, this dress is extremely versatile. She love the shoulder cut outs which add a little trendy touch to the classic black. She did a great job pairing it with a yellow accented headband for a pop of color.

Here's that purse again. A perfect partner to the bold tangerine color of the dress.

Everyone has been asking if we brought a puppy home. No puppies for us. With all our travels it wouldn't be fair to leave the poor guy home all the time. We got our puppy love in for now, maybe next time we visit the farm it will be kittens....

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

Looking for a scene stealing look that's also cozy and warm? I love this plaid number I found at Anthropologie (while shopping for these great Gift ideas). It's perfect for the Holidays, and great for layering. Pair it with a little bling to dress it up or add some leather for a more urban feel. Make it your own and have fun! I wore this look on The Chat for my last appearance, and it was a huge hit. Read on for more details.

Coffee Date | Outfit Post | Featuring Anthropologie

Coffee Date| Outfit Post |Featuring Anthropologie

Confession: I'm one of those work from home individuals who for the majority of the week resides in something ultra comfy, like you know pjs. Don't get me wrong, I like getting made up like any other girl and being dressed down most of the time makes these events even more special. However, when I'm just out and about being Sienna and London's mom, getting groceries, or exchanging hellos with the other dance moms; I like to feel put together but not awkwardly overdressed. In you know... something like this from Anthropologie.

Amy West in a casual look by Anthropologie
Lately we've been working on our budgeting and along with that comes meal planning. A little extra time on a Sunday can lead to a lot of savings. More $$ to snag something cute at Anthropologie right?

With little London still being so small, we've limited our travel a bit recently. Craving the fragrances and tastes of other lands, I've resorted to more exotic meals. This recipe book from Anthro was a treasure trove of ideas!

I love London mug

Obsessed with this London mug! Must have!

Flashback Femininity | Outfit Post | Featuring Anthropologie

Fashion Blogger Amy West in flare leg jeans from Anthropologie

Today on the blog I'm pairing another set of fabulous flare leg jeans with an ultra feminine blouse. Who says moms have to wear mom jeans? Toss those lumpy trousers in the waste basket and pull on a pair of these dark wash Citizen of Humanity flares complete with rear sculpting technology. Can I get an Amen?!

I'm loving the detail on this embroidered pull over by Akemi + Kim. The fabric is super soft and the cross over design is not only flattering, it also assures baby has access to what's for dinner. A must have for me! Find this Akemi + Kim Blouse at Anthropologie here

Graphic Flare | Outfit Post | Featuring Anthropologie

Graphic Flare | Fall Outfit Post with Amy West featuring Anthropologie

The weather is finally cooling down and now that I'm fitting back into most of my pre-baby clothes I've been in the mood to shop a bit. My closet was in need of a bit of an update, but having an infant comes with some ...err special needs in the wardrobe department. But just because baby is breastfeeding doesn't mean I have to sacrifice style right!? My friends at Anthropologie proved to me that great style can be baby friendly too! Here are a few of the gems I discovered. Watch out for baby London stealing the scene. And did I mention my new do?

The Flare is Back

How do you weigh in on the flare debate? Are you happy to see it return or are you grieving over your skinny jean's demise? I think it's safe to say that your skinny jeans won't be gone forever, however it's nice to give this silhouette a chance again. These Paige High Rise Bell Canyon Flares had me feeling long and lean as I return to non stretchy waist pants. Paired with some Franco Sarto wedges my 5'9" from took an even longer stretch. It's hard for me to find jeans long enough to fit my inseam so I was pleasantly surprised that the length was spot on and perfect for heels as well! Winning!

New Do?

Why the change? I hate to be cliche and all but when one has a baby, it's kind of the thing to do. Why? Well, there are a few reasons.
1. Out with the old in with the new.
After nine months of not having any control, this is your chance to make a change you can control.
2. Variety is the spice of life.
It's just more fun.
3. Less time to do the do.
Yes, long lovely locks are pretty to look out but what new mom has hours to spend washing, drying, and styling said locks? Instead of opting for the daily pony and bun, I hit up my stylist Misty at Rio Hair Studio for a trendy LOB or ( Long Bob) that is super easy to style and takes minutes to do.
4. Losing it.
A less than ideal part of having a baby is that all the glossy thickness you developed while preggo... has to go. It starts coming out in clumps and I was just not having that. A preemptive strike handled that. By chopping around 6 inches off, I have less to lose.

Graphic Statement
I've been digging black lately. It tends to be more forgiving on certain "situations" a girl faces when her ever changing post baby body is returning back to normal. This split neck henley makes a statement while concealing my still soft middle. I'll have that six pack back soon right??? Well maybe sometime in the next year. Let's be real, it took nine months to stretch out... it will likely take something like that to get back to normal.

The Perfect Accessory

By now I'm pretty used to my stunning girls stealing the scene. London mugs it for the camera here batting her saucer sized baby blues. And yes, she is just as charming in real life as she is in pics. My heart has not stopped melting. I'm pretty much putty in her hands.

Delicate Details

Babies little hands are into everything that's Momma's. I usually love statement jewelry, however when baby is in tow less is more. These delicate finishing pieces are just the thing.

New Sunnies

And here's where I take a moment and thank the hubby for gifting me this fabulous pair of Versace shades. He's a keeper!

Baby Friendly

For the cool weather a comfy sweater is a must have. This one has a bonus! It also serves as a discreet nursing cover.

All of these fabulous finds and none of them labeled "maternity or post maternity". The next time you are shopping at Anthropologie don't be afraid to ask a staff member for help finding garments that not only look amazing, but also meet your needs.

Until then...

Enjoy the Journey!

Momma's Little Secret | What I'm Wearing | Featuring Belly Bandit

Amy West shares her secrets for getting her pre baby body back. It's no secret. One of the number one goals of every new mom is getting her pre baby body back. It took the better part of an additional 9 months after my first born to return to my normal size. This time however, I've been pleased to notice I'm bouncing back much quicker. What's the source of this expedited return to the norm? I truly believe that since I was in better shape before the pregnancy, I was able to get back my shape faster, but also I have a little secret. For generations the secret of compression has been passed down from woman to woman. It's no surprise that the modern day marketplace has harnessed the concept and perfected it. Belly Bandit's products are the finest example of compression wear at work. Here are a few of my favorite pieces I've been wearing over the last month.

Belly Bandit products. The Mother Tucker Nursing Tank and Black Couture Lace Belly Bandit
Nude Mother Tucker Tank, Black Mother Tucker Tank, and the Couture Black Lace Print Belly Bandit
I love the Belly Bandit products because they are designed with fashion, and comfort in mind. The Mother Tucker Tanks are the perfect layering pieces and are made with an extra wide band to avoid rolling.

Couture Black Lace Belly Bandit

The Couture Black Lace Belly Bandit is as fashionable as it is functional. Lovely enough to wear under or over your garments.

The B.D.A Pants are engineered for wear during pregnancy and after. These have been my go to pants. They are luxuriously soft, flattering, and have a beautiful drape that accommodates the ever changing body of a woman with child.

These are my favorite pieces and have made a big difference in my goals towards achieving my pre baby size. What are your favorite Belly Bandit pieces? Make sure to check out the Ultimate Push Present package and the Diva Delivery Bundle as great gift ideas for the expecting lady in your life.

Until then...
