One of the many joys of being in your last trimester in the middle of summer is tolerating the intense heat. Living in Florida, the temps can soar along with the humidity, which means our free time will be spent on, near, or by the water this season. When dressing the bump for summer it's all about light, breezy clothing that doesn't cling. I love this Wendy Bellissimo Maxi I found at Destination Maternity. It's airy and lightweight and perfect for a carefree stroll on the sand.
Effortlessly Chic
My eye was drawn to this maxi because of it's tie-dye whimsical pattern. By naure I'm a little suspicious of how patterns will look on my tall curvy frame. I typically don't like things that are really busy. This dress though, really captured me and I loved how well it moved. I knew this would be a big win for me in the summer and it's definitely become a go-to on the hottest days. At $48 it doesn't break the bank either and my plans are to keep it post baby and cinch it in with a belt to give it some longevity in my closet.
The image online doesn't show the little tie belt that it comes with, but I think it definitely works better with the belt than without.
I love how this beaded necklace from Anthropologie added just the right subtle pop of color. Giving the whole look an ocean inspired vibe. You can imagine the print as reflections from underwater and the beads as the rainbow of coral and exotic fish. And the Anthro sunnies just look friggen cool:)
Unseen here is the back interest cut out. You will need a strapless bra for this one, but fortunately the straps on the dress are adjustable so if you need to draw them up or let them out based on your shoulders you can. This will also help post baby as the bust size drops back to normal.
I felt the size ran a little big. I bought it in a small. I wash it in a delicates bag and hang it to dry like all my maternity wear and it comes out perfect.
I even climbed the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse in Daytona in this dress and it kept me nice and cool all 203 steps to the top! Go preggo! (more to come on that trip soon)
